Description

Decyl Glucoside is a mild surfactant or cleansing/ foaming agent is an ingredient commonly used in making foaming cleansing personal-care products including baby shampoo, body washes and cleansers for sensitive skin. It is derived from plants plant and gentle for all skin and hair types.

Ingredient Function: Non-ionic Surfactant

Composed of: Decyl Glucoside and Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate

Derived From: Coconut, plant-based fatty acids of vegetable oils

Appearance: Viscous Liquid; Comes in clear to light yellow to amber/ maize-yellow

Texture: Slippery like soap

Smell: Mild odour; has a characteristic detergent smell

Solubility: Water-soluble

Usage Rate: 4 to 40%

Storage: Store in a tightly sealed container, away from heat and cold

Shelf Life: 24 Months when properly stored

• Can be added as-is during formulation
• PH Range: 11.5 to 12.5
• Non-Ionic
• ASM (Active Surfactant Matter): 51-55%
• Decyl Glucoside is easily thickened with: xanthan gum 10 to 0.3%, carbomer 940 10 to 0.5%, non-ionic surfactants, natural or synthetic polymers
• Can either be used as the main/ primary surfactant or as a secondary/ co-surfactant during formulation of cleansing products
