Description

Potassium Sorbate is a widely used mild preservative in cosmetics, skincare, and hair care formulations.

Potassium Sorbate prevents the growth of yeast, mold, and some bacteria (not all bacteria), helping to extend the shelf life of your products.

For broader antimicrobial protection, it is recommended to combine Potassium Sorbate with other preservatives like Sodium Benzoate.

Formulation Guidelines (Potassium Sorbate)

Usage Rate: Use between 0.1% to 0.5% for effective preservation.

Phase to Incorporate: Add Potassium Sorbate to the cool-down phase of your formulation (below 40°C) to maintain effectiveness.

Ideal pH Range:W Potassium Sorbate works best in formulations with a pH of 4.0 to 6.5.

Not Ideal pH Range: Potassium Sorbate is less effective in formulations with a pH above 6.5.
