2. Heating: Heat both the Oil Phase and Water Phase separately to **75°C (167°F)**. Ensure Montanov™ 68 is fully melted before combining.
3. Emulsification: Slowly pour the heated water phase into the heated oil phase while applying **high shear** (immersion blender or homogenizer) for 2-3 minutes until a smooth emulsion forms.
4. Cool-Down Phase: Switch to gentle manual or low-shear mixing while cooling down. Add the heat-sensitive active ingredients, botanical extracts, and preservatives once the temperature drops below 40°C.
5. Viscosity Note: The full viscosity and lamellar liquid-crystal network develop over 24 to 48 hours. Allow your batch to rest overnight before making final consistency adjustments.
