Fuller’s Earth Clay Powder (Multani Mitti)

Description

Fuller’s Earth Clay Powder is a type of Kaolin clay. Like the other Kaolin Clay powders, Fuller’s Earth is high in skin-loving minerals. It’s an ingredient for face masks and many cosmetic and skincare products due to its cleansing and oil-absorbent properties.

Appearance: Smooth, fine powder

Colour: comes in a wide range of colours, from sandy-brown or soil colour/ beige to greenish-brown, cream to butter-yellow colour

Solubility: Soluble in water; Fuller’s Earth Clay Powder forms a smooth paste with water

Usage Rate: 5 to 75%, up to 100%

• Bar Soaps: up to 5% or 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon per 500 grams of soap base

Properties of Fuller’s Earth Clay Powder

• Skin Conditioning Properties: Fuller’s Earth softens the skin, improves skin tone and complexion
• Anti-inflammatory: Fuller’s Earth Clay also has anti-inflammatory properties, and so is perfect for acne/ pimple prone skin
• Odor Neutralizer: Fullers earth Clay has the ability to absorb smell and so is commonly used to deodorize cat litters, liquids and oils

Other Uses of Fuller’s Earth Clay

• Wool Cleaner: Fuller’s earth clay powder is traditionally used in the textile industry to soak up (and remove) oil and dirt from fresh wool (which are usually mixed with oil and dirt)
• Cat Litter Deodorizer: Due to it’s highly absorbent and deodorizing abilities, Fuller’s Earth Clay is used in cat litters to absorb smell, hence its use as the main ingredient in commercial cat litters
